Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how American Liquidations ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Auction Marketplace mobile app and related services (the "Service"). This policy applies to the Auction Marketplace app only, and is separate from any privacy policy for our other products.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide:

• Account details — your email address, name, and phone number, created when you register or sign in (including via Google or Apple sign-in).
• Profile information — optional details such as a profile photo, display or company name, and your city or general area.
• Listings and content — item titles, descriptions, photos, prices, and the location you attach to a listing.
• Bids and transactions — the bids you place, auctions you win, and deals you complete.
• Communications — messages you send through in-app deal chat, and messages you send us for support.
• Payment information — when you pay for a won item, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically:

• Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, and basic activity needed to operate the app.
• Location — with your permission, your device location, used to show nearby auctions, calculate distances, and set pickup points.
• Push tokens — a device notification token so we can send you alerts (e.g. when you're outbid or an auction is ending).

2. How we use your information

• To provide the Service — run auctions, place bids, list items, and complete deals and pickups.
• To send notifications you've enabled (outbid, ending-soon, won, watchlist, and deal updates).
• To show relevant, nearby listings and calculate distances.
• To keep the marketplace safe — prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
• To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

• With other users — your public profile, listings, seller ratings, and (once a deal is agreed) the information needed to complete a transaction and pickup with the other party.
• With service providers — companies that help us operate the Service, such as authentication and storage (Supabase), push notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging), payment processing, and cloud hosting. They may only use your data to provide services to us.
• For legal reasons — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or us.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Location information

Location is used to sort and show nearby auctions, display distances, and set meet-up/pickup points for deals. You can control location access at any time in your device settings; some features may not work without it.

5. Push notifications

We send push notifications via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we must retain it by law.

7. Your rights and choices

• Access and update — you can view and edit your profile in the app.
• Delete your account — you can delete your account from within the app, or email us and we'll remove it for you.
• Permissions — you can manage location, camera, photo, and notification access in your device settings.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated in the app.
